Monday: Back to School (Ugh)

Funny how my last few posts fell on Christmas, and New Years day, and then I have to post on such a bad day as this. We have a new competition coming so keep tabs on that. Now I know that I'm getting kindKa boring, so lets get to our two concepts! Oh wait, the HCIHL scores.

Hamilton Stags 242.2 - Evansville Rivermen 231.6
Skopje Lisici (Foxes) 215 - London (ON) Sabreswords 162.1
Louisville Lynx - 161.6 Altoona Express 94.4

Now we can move on!

Phoenix Coyotes 3rd Jersey (Alan H.)
Alan, our Saturday writer and GM of the HCIHL team stationed in London, Ontario, gives us a pretty good concept that I barely have any complaints on. First, you gotta love that Aztec esque striping, and the colors only make it better. The logo works, but really could be interchangeable with the leaping Coyote. The number font may look better with an outline, but looks good as is. One pet peeve I've always had with concepts with striping like this is that it isn't on the socks, in my opinion it looks kinda out of place with the rest on the jersey so I'd put it on there. The equipment would look much better in black (except for the helmet). Concept Rating 8.1/10

Heritage Classic 2016 (Justin S.)
Second time writer Justin gives us an O.K. 2016 Heritage Classic concept. We now know that Winnipeg will be in a outdoor game of some type, but not against who. The Jets one looks perfect, only a lace up collar would make it better. The Canucks one is good too, I just might get rid of the phantom yoke. The real problem that I have with this concept, is that jerseys aren't classic enough. Think of all the classic jerseys that they wear for the Classics, but I don't think these will fit in. Concept Rating 7.1/10

So how did like todays post? Remember, we can have 3-4 concept days if you send your concepts in, so don't waste your time, DO IT NOW! Well that's all for today, bye and thanks for reading!

Sunday: Middle of Peg

Hello everyone I'm Alan, I'll get elbow to my head, so you don't have to. Welcome to the Sunday edition of HCI. Today it's all Winnipeg Jets post, two from me, and one from Matt. Let's get jetting shall we.

Winnipeg Jets Concept [by me]
This is my Winnipeg Jets Concept from 2012, the logo of the jet with the word mark in front of the jet is made by me, the jersey I try to mix with two Reebok edge cookie cutter design by using the Blue Jackets current set, and the Flyers old Reebok set. The colors is navy, royal blue, and red on the jerseys.

Winnipeg Jets Concept (NHLuniform.com version) [by me]
It's pretty much the same as the one above only made some tweaks just to fit this template.

Winnipeg Jets Concept [by Matthew M.]
Up points: The design may be almost the same as the team's current set, but using red instead of powder blue is a smart move! It's well balanced the stripes is neat.
Down points: Red nameplate, and red numbers on the white kinda over doing it. Lastly the red pants looks unfitting to the jerseys to me.
My Suggestion: Make the nameplate on the white blue, make the numbers blue with red trim, and lastly make the pants blue with red and white stripes.

Well that's today post! If you all want to know who won the Creighton Blue Jays contest you'll have to wait for this week for the result. Until then, I'm Alan, I'll get elbow to my head, so you don't have to.

Tuesday.

Hello concept fans! It's your favorite writer Caden here with some special news! First of all I'm pretty bummed out because my Icemen "scored" the tying goal .5 seconds AFTER the 3rd period ended. Needless to day it was disallowed. More importantly if you don't following the HCI twitter (@HCIblog) you should! Each week we will be posting a never before seen bonus concept on twitter, so you should check it out like a hot chick in a bikini. I've always wanted to say that! Alright, nothing much more to say, other than check out our twitter page (@HCIblog) Thanks in advance for following!

Boston Bruins Steve M.
This is part of Steve's 4th jersey series, which will soon be added to our jersey series page. I really like yellow 3rds (or 4ths in this case) because they can be used on the road as well. I like the striping and yoke a lot too! I'm not really a fan of the logo/letter thingy. Even though it's classic, it's too collegey. The B look nice on the shoulders though. You might also want to change the shade of black in the #s to the same as the striping.

I like the jersey, but couldn't "bear" the logo. A 7/10

Winnipeg Jets Brian B.
Wow! I am a sucker for double blue designs and this is no different! The color balance is perfect on the away, the home could use a smige more white. I like the chest stripes. I like the yokes. I like everything! EXCEPT the # font. The stencil font for a military themed jersey is something they would do in the minor leagues. I would also ditch the tie down collar because of the chest stripe.

I love the double blue, but the numbers can "fly by!" A 8.9/10

Thought I'd make you smile today! If you were wondering why I didn't get thanksgiving break, well it's one of the benefits of being homeschooled! :'(

*UPDATE* Former HJC Friday writer Ricky Mazella has joined our team! He will write for HCI on Friday starting Friday Nov. 29th. Check his blog out here. Just from me I'm honored to have an HJC writer on our team. Even though he doesn't write for them any more, "He's Played in the Big Leagues!" So to speak.

And as always, Thanks for reading.

Wednesday: All Hallows Eve Eve

Hello guys, Justin here. I just wanna wish all of you a safe Halloween for tomorrow is any of you are going out. I'll cut to the chase and straight to the concepts.

HC Plzen by Jake88

YAY:
-The "phantom yoke" on the dark jersey. I, personally, am not a fan of the phantom yoke, but, the double striping on the back and front makes it look nice and fresh.
-Double striping.
-Use of only 2 colours

NAY:
-No shoulder patch
-Gloves. My suggestion, add a bit of white.

VERDICT: Once again a solid concept from Jake. 9/10

Winnipeg Jets by me.
I tried to use Dylan Wonka's hanger template. You can review it yourself or Jake and Caden can in the next week or so. If you don't know, Dylan is a writer on HJC.

St. Louis Blues by me,
This jersey is mainly inspired by the Blues jerseys from the 90s. Jake and Caden can judge it on a future post.

LIFE UPDATE:
This Friday, I get to carry the Canadian flag onto the field during the anthem before a Canadian football game (Canada!). Also, this weekend, i'm going to an autograph signing with Pavel and Valeri Bure, Yvan Cournoyer, and Kirk McLean. so i'm glad it's hump day!!
